TOUCHSTONE: a Creative Sadhana

Yoga can help us to be more self aware and to find self expression. Living creatively is a sadhana towards something within.
Focused practice can reveal an inner space and open up our potential to live more creatively within ourselves and within our lives.
This new course offers an opportunity for experienced practitioners to explore and deepen their own practice in an imaginative way, whilst using the traditional values of yoga as a touchstone or support.
The core of the course consists of three interlinked weekends over twelve months, two non residential and one residential, and all based in Leicestershire.
There will also be three interwoven optional extra seminars. One will be a long weekend in Montpellier with Peter Hersnack, another will be a creative workshop in an artist’s studio and the third will be a two week course in South India.
The course will be complete in itself, but there will be the possibility for continuation.

RESIDENTIAL RETREAT AT LAUNDE ABBEY

An opportunity to take time for ourselves in a peaceful environment and to look at the value of yoga in our everyday lives.
A theme will be explored via
Yoga practice – using postures, breath, sound, and imaging in a meditative way.
Teaching sessions with reference to the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali.
Art workshop linked to the weekend theme.
Launde Abbey, East Norton, is an Elizabethan manor house set in a peaceful valley surrounded by gardens, pasture and woodland. The Georgian stable block will be the main venue for the retreat, with meals being served in the house.
Fees: £200 shared twin-bedded room, £210 single room.
The cost includes all meals, tuition, handouts and materials. Early booking is advised by sending a £50 non-refundable deposit asap.
SHEILA BAKER has studied with Desikachar and Paul Harvey and is currently studying with Peter Hersnack in France and Denmark. She is a registered aYs practitioner and Post Graduate, teaching individuals, small groups, workshops and retreats (including taking a group each spring to Mysore, S.India). She also teaches design at local Universities.

Retreat with Peter Hersnack at Launde Abbey
Peter is taking one open retreat in 2009 in the UK from Monday 7th to Thursday 10th September, 2009
It will be held at Launde Abbey, a beautiful Elizabethan House in a secluded valley in Leicestershire.
