Learn to joyfully and effortlessly...
AWAKEN insightful understanding and clarity

INSPIRE and sustain positive change from deep within

Almost all of human thinking and behavior are products of patterns. They subconsciously weave into every dimension of our existence, creating the fabric of life - constant and dynamic, nourishing and weakening, sustaining and destabilizing...

Yoga as a way of life is all about working with and transforming patterns. The ultimate objective is to weaken and diminish the destructive and debilitating patterns and reinforce the constructive, positive patterns.

In Transforming Patterns, Saraswathi combines the ancient wisdom and tools of yoga with contemporary change-processes. The one-day intensive workshop is a launch-pad that will help you see and transform patterns, facilitating deeper changes that endure and empower.

Saraswathi is deeply committed to sharing her experience and knowledge of yoga and healing through this workshop.

She has two Post Graduate degrees, in Nutrition and Psychology. She was one of the first to receive a Diploma in Yoga from the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram Institute of Yoga Studies in Chennai. She has served as a yoga teacher, therapist, consultant, and teacher trainer for over 16 years at the KYM.

poem

someone asked me to put this on the website, so here it is.. PP10's convention song...

I'm teaching Yoga in the in the morning (to the tune of I'm getting married in the morning)

I'm teaching Yoga in the morning,
Don't think I'm gonna be on time.
I'm feeling none too hearty
Lost my prana at a party,
Oh get me to the class on time.

If I bend forward,
I'm gonna be sick.
If I do twisting,
FETCH THE BUCKET QUICK!

I'm teaching Yoga in the morning,
Wish I hadn't drunken all that wine.
My chakras are a muddle,
Ob god I need a cuddle.
Oh get me to the class on time.

If I do backbends
I'm gonna cry.
The thought of head stands
Makes me want to cry.

I'm teaching Yoga in the morning.
Don't think Purusa's gonna shine.
My mula has gone up in smoke,
Standing up will be a joke.
Oh get me to the class on time.

Margo forgive me
And Ranju please
And Peter Hersnack
I beg you on my knees.

I'm teaching Yoga in the morning... (fades out)..

Let's do savasana in the morning,
Ninety minutes of it would be fine.
There's no need to come down,
Just do it in you dressing gown,
And I can stay in bed till nine.

Krishnamacharya & Srivatsa Ramaswami

After recently receiving some feedback from enquiries to Ramaswami's visit to the U.K. in 2009 I realised that many people did not know who he was. Some people were unaware that Krishnamacharya had another long term student. Ramaswami studied for over 30 years as a personal student of Krishnamacharya and began teaching with his Acharya's blessing and support.

NamaRupa magazine published an article by Ramaswami about his studies with Krishnamacharya. I have sent this article to people who have enquired about Ramaswami's workshops. The feedback I received from many who read it inspired me to try and make it available to any students interested in Krishnamacharya's teachings. If you would like a copy it is available as a free download from NamaRupa, the link is.

Information on Ramaswami's 2009 U.K. programme is available at

athayog update

www.athayog.me.uk now has sections on the Sutras, Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads; also pages on Desikachar's Heart of Yoga.

Some of the in-page links don't work yet as I have yet to change the previous hyperlinks from the old site.

I have added a few of my own pictures as well.

Still a lot of work to do, but the general scheme of things is in place.
